Syllable hosts a hip hop open mic night where emcees may get on stage and perform writtens and freestyle to a beat or a cappella. It's every other Thursday starting June 3rd 2010 at the Hideout Coffee shop , located at 7th and Congress downtown (617 Congress st) from 10pm to midnight. No cover.
We like to keep it relatively conscious though all content is welcome, if you have skills.
In the spirit of the Good Life Cafe, the mike is open for you to wreck it and help Austin become more about hip hop.
In a city that has a million and one guitar open mikes the hip hop heads are left still wanting. Syllable aims to quench this thirst by giving rappers, lyricists, emcees or hip hop artist a chance to perfect their art and get props while doing so.
