It's goin' down my peoples! And I need your help spreading the word on this one for sure. Legendary New Orleans Bounce Music Originator ICE MIKE will be making his first Austin appearance ever on Saturday July 19th with special guests DJ Chill and Mr. Cree. Ice Mike produced a lot of the early New Orleans mega hits, most notably Bust Down's "Nasty Bitch," and his own "Slammin' Theeze Hoez." He's worked with legends like Tre-8, DJ Jimi, Joe Blakk, Code 6, Mystikal, Tim Smooth and More. His history is rich, and he's back hard in the game. Come check out New Orleans bounce music as it was meant to be presented.
DJ Chill used to share an apartment – and a set of turntables – with the Legendary DJ Screw. Screw made mixtapes, while Chill set the clubs of Houston on fire. He was one of the first to play New Orleans bounce in Texas and is hands down one of the best hype men on the club scene. He will spin an early set of classics, and also assist Ice Mike with getting the crowd hyped. A DJ Chill DJ night is not to be missed.
Mr. Cree is a member of the Superstar DJ's, a highly active DJ crew based in Austin, TX. He was a member of one of Austin's earliest hip hop collectives – The Guarden – in the late 80's and later made a name for himself as one third of the ground breaking hip-hop trio Sociopath Left.
